Graham has experience providing IP advice to a wide variety of clients, ranging from start-ups to major corporations. He is a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney, a Registered Design Attorney and a part-qualified Trade Mark Attorney.

Graham supports his clients across all areas of patent practice, including: preparing and filing patent applications; prosecuting patent applications worldwide; handling oppositions and appeals; preparing infringement and validity opinions; and supporting due diligence activities, in particular providing infringement risk analysis and advice on freedom-to-operate. Graham has technical expertise and experience across a wide range of technologies. He has a particular interest in medical devices though he is capable of handling any engineering-related subject matter - including automotive, aeronautical, oil and gas, electro-mechanical, MEMS and manufacturing technology, for example. On the trade mark side, Graham has several experience both in obtaining and enforcing registered trade mark rights for his clients.


Graham has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University. He also has a Masters degree in Management of Intellectual Property. Graham qualified as a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney in 2011, having trained at a top tier London firm.

Graham is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA), and an Associate Member of ITMA.

Recent Work

Since joining Mathys & Squire, Graham has been heavily involved in developing the IP portfolios of existing clients, both through prosecution and expansion of existing patent families and through the preparation and filing of new patent applications. In addition, Graham has been focussing on developing his practice at Mathys & Squire, and he is always looking for opportunities to meet and become involved with new clients.
